Mission Statement

Named SAINT STEPHEN after the first martyr and the first century deacon. The people of Saint Stephen see their mission, like the early deacons and deaconesses, as one of serving others in the name of Christ.

LUTHERAN not in competition with other Christians, but in unity with them in the one, holy body deep in the world's wounds, bringing healing by God's grace. For grace to serve, the act of gathering and sharing in Word and Sacraments is central to the members of Saint Stephen. The Gospel is preached, studied, shared and explored with the vigor and vitality that the Spirit brings. Daily renewal is found in the Baptismal fountain of forgiveness where sinners are named "child" by the Triune God. The Holy Communion is the family meal where pardon, peace and joy are present in the deepest sense.

FAITH FAMILY is a way of describing that there is, by God's uniting power, an intentional commitment to be brothers and sisters, to weep with those who mourn and to celebrate with those who rejoice, to care and to dare in serving because there is a home and life in the Lord's love.

St. Stephen's people invite you to be a part of the Faith Family.    We welcome you in the name of Christ-- to worship with us, inquire of us as to our holy faith, join us in friendship, service to the world, sharing the scriptures, prayer, growth in Christian living and mission.
