Between the church buildings, on the exterior wall behind the altar are the letters alpha and omega wrought in black iron. These first and last letters of the Greek alphabet recall the scriptural texts (Revelation 1.8; 21.6; 22.13) which refer to Christ Jesus as the first and the last of all things, the beginning and the ending of everyone. He bookends time and space with eternity. And we live the chapters and pages of our lives not only within the walls of the church but everywhere bracketed by his blessing in the cross and resurrection.
