Prayers for Days of the Week

Sunday + Lord God, we adore you for tearing time open with eternity, faithful Father, saving Son and precious Spirit.

Monday + Lord God, prepare us as we step from resurrection’s river to live in a land that you have conquered.

Tuesday + Lord God, watch over us and send us to unshackle those who are caught and held by sin.

Wednesday + Lord God, we are pulled all directions, direct our doings by your love and inspire us by your dedication to us.

Thursday + Lord God, may the medicine of mercy spare us for thanks and the touch of healing.

Friday + Lord God, center us each day, each and every week, on your weakness and death which is our strength and life through and beyond days and weeks and years…

Saturday + Lord God, quietly bring us into your presence, show and lead us into your purposes before we close our eyes.

Prayers for the Hours of the Day

During the Night + Lord God, let me not be sleepless in fear or sadness, but alert for your coming and joyful at your return.

Upon Rising + Lord God, awake me with the surprise that I am alive and yours; arouse me to your wonder today.

Preparation for Work and Duty + Lord God, armor and apron me for your tasks and servanthood.

Noon + Lord God, in holiness fall down upon us that we may be gifts to bear the body of our beloved Jesus Christ into the world.

Late Afternoon + Lord God, gather us around your table to hold, share, rejoice and praise your presence which fills all things and creates a harvest of forever-fruitfulness.

Evening + Lord God, lift me that I may surround you with thanks as you cover me with your sweet and holy benediction.

At Retiring + Lord God, in sorrowfulness for sin let me be comforted to know you pray for me when I fall asleep.

An OUR FATHER

Father forever, all are yours who call on you in Jesus, who is the prayer.

Above us, beyond me, heaven drop down in Jesus, surround us, dwell in me earthbound, with your limitless love.

Named with holiness, set apart for you and yours, call me, bless us, a child, a people.

Come and rule us in heart and act.

My will has an ill to it and yours a wellness. Heal me of myself. Cloud our path with your perfection and map out our moments with your mercy.

Give us daily dependence. Keep me asking with thanks for we have no strength without you.

Forgive the givens of sin, my selfishness, our self-centeredness, our pride rising up against you.

Save us from the undertow of sin. Give us a way of escape from the shifting sands which quickly undermine life.

Kingdom, yours. Power, yours. Glory, yours. Father, our.
